HDVC’s Privacy Statement has been written in clear, plain English and our intention is to be as transparent as possible to avoid any confusion.

For the sake of clarity ‘you’ refers to an individual who has expressed an interest in volunteering or a charity/organisation that has expressed a need for volunteers.

Data held on individuals and organisations/charities will be treated equally.

We have limited requirements to hold data but some data is necessary for us to fulfil our mission. Data will be restricted to;

  • Name or Organisation
  • Telephone number
  • Contact name
  • Charity aims
  • Geographical area of operation
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Skills or interests (individuals)
  • Age range (individuals)

At HDVC we take the protection of your data very seriously. We will only use your data for our own use to provide the service or information you want. We only hold and use data provided by you and don’t seek data from any other organisation or third party.
Data will only be shared with the individuals or charities that meet your requirements as part of our mission to match volunteers to appropriate charities or organisations. Data will never be sold, exchanged or shared with any third parties save for the appropriate individual or charity as outlined previously.
Data will be held indefinitely but you can ask for your data to be deleted at any time by contacting HDVC and we will confirm by written (email) response. You can request a copy of the data we hold at any time by contacting us via email or letter, we will endeavour to respond with 7 working days.

We promise to keep all data safe and secure at all times.

We need to update our records from time to time to ensure we are serving those who want and need our services, and so we will contact you by email or telephone to ascertain your current requirements.
If you do not wish to be contacted, please email volunteer@hdvc.org.uk and let us know and we will confirm in writing that you have been removed from our Contact list.
